Project NanoSTEM and NanoZoo Connect were U.S. Department of Agriculture funded educational programs that worked to bring information about science and nanotechnology to students in urban and rural areas in Tennessee.

Dr. Thompson designed and maintained data collection tools to aid program personnel in tracking service delivery and client progress; designed formative and summative assessments to measure clients’ knowledge acquisition; and designed surveys to solicit customer feedback and gauge satisfaction for continuous quality improvement.

Dr. Thompson conducted both process and outcome evaluations to promote program quality, measure efficacy, and meet program standards, goals, and objectives. Our findings informed key personnel of the program’s effectiveness in improving students’ knowledge of nanotechnology and interest in STEM-related careers.
